One life to live, trying to live another life

Soap opera fans are no joke!

They have watched these shows for as long as they can remember. Some women in their 30’s have been tuned in since they were teens . It’s a cheesy obsession, but it is an obsession, none the less. So, when you announce that you are canceling, it’s like taking away one of their children!
First the fans bombarded Oprah’s message board, telling her to save the soaps. They wanted her to put them on her network. The uprising was so bad, Oprah had to make this You Tube video. (Didn’t know that did you? Neither did I.)

Although I disagree with Oprah, and I think her network could benefit from at least one of the Soaps, I give her props for addressing the issue, and she is correct – the percentage of stay at home mom’s has decreased substantially.

WELL NOW, ONE LIFE TO LIVE’S RATINGS HAVE SOARED!!
Compared to last week, (OLTL) “One Life to Live’s” ratings were up by 263,000 viewers. Compare that to the same week last year, and ratings are up 507,000 viewers. (AMC) “All My Children” was up 53,000 compared to the same week last year. All other daytime dramas were down year to year!
Will ABC have second thoughts? Probably not, but it could help OWN and Oprah boost her ratings. Or maybe Oprah can start a Soap Oprah of her own. A Soap Oprah!! Trademark Please!
