Comedian Patrice O’ Neal Suffers a Stroke, Severity Still Unknown.

Patrice O’Neal suffered a stroke last week.  The news was revealed by comedian Jim Norton.

He was on the Opie and Anthony show and reported the details,

“We don’t know how he is. It’s too soon to tell. Anybody who knows about strokes, it takes a while sometimes, we just don’t know. We don’t know how he is going to be.”

Opie and Anthony posted a statement on their fan page,

“Our close friend Patrice O’Neal suffered a stroke last week,” the statement reads. “Please respect his family and their request for privacy. An email has been set up for fans to send him well wishes and his family will make sure he gets them. You can write to LoveForPatrice@gmail.com. When we have an update on his condition, we will let you all know.”

Patrice is only 41 years old and has been battling diabetes.  Patrice hit the big time after his appearance on The Apollo Comedy Hour, then he went on tour with Def Comedy Jam in 2007.

After several late show appearances Patrice certified himself a place of amongst the top comedic personalities.  He was tapped for bit parts in top shows like, “Yes Dear”, “Arrested Development”, “The Office” and “Chappelle’s Show”.

His last television appearance was during the Charlie Sheen roast where he eluded to bouts he was having with diabetes .

I’m dying of diabetes and you motherfu*kers are like, ‘Oh, that evil fat fu*k.’”
