Target Pulls Offensive Whitney Houston Card off Store Shelves After Confirming They Were Made Before Her Death

[sam id=”16″ codes=”true”]A Whitney Houston greeting card was found at a Target store that has many Reddit users and now the general public in an uproar.  The card is meant to be sarcastic and playful but in my opinion in bad taste.

Someone first posted a picture of the card on Reddit this weekend, and it spread over the web like wildfire.  That’s what Reddit is created to do.  Spread interesting news, funny stuff and pictures and that it did.

Currently there is no photo of what is on the outside of the card, but the inside says,

“next time you think about doing the bad boy, consider whitney houston. that’s all i’m going to say.”

THE CARD ACTUALLY PRINTED BEFORE WHITNEY DIED

Me being no stranger to mass retail markets thought it was strange and impressive that a greeting card company could hit a major outlet like Target so soon after Whitney’s death.  TMZ quickly cleared things up, confirming that the card was printed and on Target store shelves before Whitney died.

….the card’s not so bad then.  However now, it’s in extremely poor taste, but you can understand how Target let it slip through the cracks (no pun intended).  A Target rep told TMZ,

“The card was in our stores prior to Ms. Houston’s death. As soon as this was brought to our attention, we began the process of removing the card from all applicable stores.”

Way to take care of business Target!  ….I just need to see what’s on the front of that card.  If anyone has a pic of it shoot me an email cosmo@tvsmacktalk.com.  I’m just curious.
