Kelsey Grammer’s Series “Boss” Gets Cancelled After Only 2 Seasons!

Wow!  I have to say that I didn’t see this coming at all.  I don’t think Kelsey Garmmer did either.

After just two seasons Kelsey Grammer will not be playing the “Boss” anymore.  Apparently critical acclaim and a Golden Globe for best actor in a drama is not enough to save a show these days.

Startz had huge plans for the show before it even aired.  They gave the green light for Season two before season one even started; but now due to low ratings the show has been cut.  Startz released a statement,

“After much deliberation, we have made the difficult decision to not proceed with [a third season of] Boss, We remain proud of this award-winning show, its exceptional cast and writers, and are grateful to Kelsey Grammer, [creator] Farhad Safinia and our partners at Lionsgate TV.”

Kelsey will surely blame this on being a republican as well.  Although he won the Golden Globe for best actor for portraying the fiery Chicago Mayoral king with a fatal neurological disease, he failed to even get an Emmy nod.

When asked by Jay Leno during his Tonight Show Appearance,  about the Emmy snub, Grammer replied sarcastically,

Yeah, its hard to figure,” Grammer said. “It may have to do with several things, honestly, but I think it’s possible, I mean, I am a, I’m a declared out of the closet Republican in Hollywood.”

Do I believe it’s possible that some young person, young voting actor, or even older voting member for the Emmys, would sit there and go, ‘Yeah, that’s a great performance, but oooooh, I just hate everything he stands for?’

“I don’t believe that’s possible.”  Said with a flare of sarcasm.

The ratings have been an issue [more…]since the show’s first season.  During a panel discussion back in August for the Summer TV Press Tour 2012, Kelsey joked about the number of viewers,

“I can’t tell you how many people come up and tell me, ‘That’s the best thing you’ve ever done!’ . . . There are also people who come up to me and say, ‘When are you coming back to television?’ ”

That’s now a question that Kelsey will have to actually answer.

Despite being worth $60 Million, when Kelsey heard the news he was like:
