Nicki Minaj Catching Heat for Showing up to first live Performances late!

Leave it up to Nicki to make an entrance.  Yesterday was the first live show for American Idol and in typical “wannabe” Diva fashion, Nicki was Tardy for the Party.

How Late was she?

So late that when Ryan Seacrest opened the show, he introduced three of the four judges.  Apparently Nicki Minaj was stuck in the infamous LA traffic; the 405 freeway to be exact.

Minaj finally took her seat 13 minutes into the show and fell right into stride.  She never mentioned or apologized for her tardiness.

To viewers it appeared that she missed contestant Curtis Finch’s entire performance but that wasn’t the case.  She was actually backstage and gave the singer her critique on his performance of fantasia’s Believe.  Finch was thrilled that Nicki saw his performance.  He said he practically ran into her back stage.

During the performance, she was backstage, It was literally like, ‘step, step, step, curtain, Nicki.  And she was like, ‘Good job today.

Contestant Paul Joelly revealed that this was not the first time that Nicki has been late, but he doesn’t mind  He told reporters,

It’s not the first [time] and probably not the last,”

But I’m OK with it. I love Nicki

Apparently she had also been late during some Hollywood Week performances.

I thought the producers finally came around and dropped her from the show when she wasn’t sitting in her judging chair.  They are slowly killing the show by making it more about the judges then the contestants.  Too bad X Factor isn’t all that Simon wants it to be yet, because ever since he left American Idol, down hill ever since.

When I asked Simon what he thought about this Season of American Idol, he was like:
