Well, Drake made the cover of Vibe magazine for the second time recently and he might have dissed Kendrick Lamar during the interview.
He covered a lot of topics in the interview, he spoke about how mean Jewish kids were to him,
“The racism I experienced was being Jewish. Jewish kids didn’t understand how I could be black and Jewish…it was just stupid, annoying rich kids that were close-minded and mean.”
And he also talked about all of the jokes and internet memes about him,
“It’s flattery. I’m just being human, it’s not like I’m on records crying and making videos in the rain and shit. I always get to this point where it’s like, ‘Man, how come this guy is allowed to do this? How come this guy is allowed to talk about the streets? All he did was be around it, just like me. He didn’t live it, but he’s allowed to talk about it. How come this guy is allowed to make girl records—love records—but they’re not girl records or love records when he does it?'”
And then he said that Kanye West was his only competition,
“He’s like, the best…My competition is nobody else, by the way. It’s just me and ‘Ye.”
Oh no he didn’t! He better watch his back. I know he’s in a wheelchair and all, but Kendrick Lamar seems like the type of guy that wouldn’t mind beating up on some disabled dude.
On a serious note, I do kind of feel bad for Drake. He does have a point when he mentions that he’s the only rapper to get called out on certain stuff. It’s just that the jokes and memes are so damn funny! He’s never going to be able to get away from it until the jokes start to get old.
