Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Get Married

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder tied the knot in Santa Monica over the weekend, disappointing many fans who would have hoped that the Twilight and Vampire Diaries stars would have done something a little more…well, vampirey.

Ian, a 36-year-old who plays teenage Vampire Damon Salvatore on the Vampire Diaries and Reed, who’s probably best known for playing Rosalie in the Twilight saga, had their nuptials in Topanga Canyon. The ceremony happened at Sunset, again a completely un-vampirey time…

Somerhalder hinted at the upcoming wedding with a Sunday morning Tweet that read

The wedding tops off a one year whirlwind relationship, when the couple was first spotted looking cozy at a LA farmers market. Shortly after that, they adopted a horse together, named Eagle and a kitten together, proving they were in it for the long haul. They even started their own production company together a few months ago. They announced their engagement in January.

While I will say that I’m happy for the couple, I’m sure angst-filled, vampire loving teen girls everywhere are heartbroken.
