So Amber Heard Avoided Jail In Dog Smuggling Case, But She Was Forced To Record Super Awkward Apology Video With Johnny Depp!

Even though he’s put out some questionable movies lately, Johnny Depp is still one of the greatest living actors. He has clearly mastered the art of acting, but that mastery escaped him for a bit while recording a ridiculously awkward apology video with his wife Amber Heard.

And surprisingly, he was not apologizing for Mortdecai. You may remember last year, Heard illegally imported her dogs while Depp was in Australia to film the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film. They allegedly smuggled the two terriers on Depp’s private jet, and not long after that, they were threatened by Australian politician Barnaby Joyce: take your filthy dogs back home, or they’re going to be killed.

There is a process if you want to bring animals: you get the permits, they go into quarantine and then you can have them. But if we start letting movie stars—even though they’ve been the Sexiest Man Alive twice—to come into our nation [and break the laws], then why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?

So yeah, it was this whole thing and the pets managed to escape with just a few hours to spare. It sounds silly, but they were extremely close to missing the deadline, which would have been bad news for the pups.

Heard recently pleaded guilty to providing a false immigration document. This means she will avoid jail time (could have been up to 10 years), but unfortunately part of the deal was recording this terribly depressing apology video with Depp.

That was hard to watch. Heard did her best, but you could tell Depp tossed all his f–ks out the plane while flying over the ocean.
