‘Star Trek’ Actor Anthony Rapp Claims Kevin Spacey Tried To Seduce Him When He Was 14, Spacey Responds By Revealing He’s Gay
What a wild day or two it has been in Hollywood. It appeared as if things were settling down following the Harvey Weinstein madness, but then Buzzfeed released a shocking story on Sunday. In the story, ‘Star Trek: Discovery‘ actor Anthony Rapp talked about how Kevin Spacey tried to seduce him when he was 14-years-old.
The now 46-year-old actor told the site that he and Spacey met back in 1986, when they were both appearing on Broadway in separate shows. Spacey was 26-years-old and Rapp was 14.
One night, Spacey invited Rapp to his apartment for a party. He got bored during the party and spent most of his time in Spacey’s bedroom watching TV. After a while, he realized everyone left the apartment and saw Spacey standing at the bedroom door, clearly drunk.
“He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. But I don’t, like, squirm away initially, because I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then he lays down on top of me. He was trying to seduce me. I don’t know if I would have used that language. But I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”
Rapp pushed Spacey off and ran to the bathroom. Once inside the bathroom, he saw a picture near the sink of Spacey with another man and thought, “Oh. He’s gay,” he then left the bathroom and went right to the front door to leave.
“I was like, ‘OK, I’m going to go home now.’ He followed me to the front door of the apartment, and as I opened the door to leave, he was leaning on the front door[frame]. And he was like, ‘Are you sure you wanna go?’ I said, ‘Yes, good night,’ and then I did leave. I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it.”
After the story went viral, Spacey went on his Twitter account to apologize to Rapp and officially come out as a gay man…
