Denzel and Wahlberg in a Buddy Cop Movie? The Trailer Looks Strangely Good [Trailer]
In what might be the most unlikeliest pairing since Arnold and Danny Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington team up in this buddy cop movie.
If you are a Wahlerg fan and like the “Contraband” type movies then you will not be disappointed in his latest effort. The movie is directed by the same person and the screenplay is based on the 2 Guns graphic novel.
One is a DEA agent and the other is an uncover Naval Intelligence officer. They both had the job of investigating the other and find out that they have both actually been set up by the cartel they were trying to bring down.
The movie is already a win because Denzel is Denzel. He appear to be much trimmer then he was in Flight and it’s good to see him delivering witty comedic lines. The man is charming. Wahlberg is the same loveable guy that he appears to be in all his movies. Capable, grounded, with a layer of bad-assness all wrapped in humble pie.
If the trailer is any indication you have comedy, drama, explosions and gun play. I say “Take my Money”.
“2 Guns” blasts into theaters on Aug. 2.
Movie Poster and Trailer Released for Scary Movie 5. Try to Contain Your Excitement.
I know you all just couldn’t’ wait for the next installment of Scary Movie. Can you believe they are actually up to number 5? I stopped watching after 2, but now I’m back. The trailer looks funny enough but the rumors of Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan have put this movie on a lot of people’s radars. Sheen and Lohan have a scene when they appear in the bed with each other. Apparently filming that scene somehow led to Sheen breaking Lindsay off $100K.
The last installment in the “Scary Movie” franchise was in 2006. This leaves 7 years of pop culture for the movie to feast on. Just some of S5’s targets to parody in this film are:
- Inception
- Black Swan
- The Hunger Games
- Mama
- Rise of the Planet of the Apes,
- Honey Boo Boo
…..just to name a few.
The stars are also lined up. In the trailer you will see Sheen and Lohan as well as Kat Williams, but that is just a start. The film will also include Kendra Wilkinson, Heather Locklear, Mike Tyson, Jasmine Guy and Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Sheree Whitfield. I guess I use the term “Star” loosely.
Collectively the four previous Scary Movie have grossed over $818 million, just in case you were wondering how they can justify a 5th. None of the previous films had a budget over $45,000, with the first one costing just $19,000 to make. That’s just good business.
The film is scheduled to be released on April 19, 2013.
Here is the trailer.
G. I. Joe: Retaliation – Watch Storm Shadow & Snake Eyes Do Battle, Awesome. [video]
If you are not excited yet about GI Joe 2 Retaliation, how about a movie clip to get you out of your seat? How about a movie clip that features ninjas? How about a movie clip that features two ninjas named Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes?
After the original script for Joe tested bad, the movie theater decided to delay the release date 9 months so that the script can be worked. Without giving too much away, Channing Tatum’s out break success in Magic Mike had an awkward effect on this Joe film. He was not a big enough presence in the movie and viewers were not happy. In fact he didn’t even make it to the first movie posters. The results were so bad in fact, the studio made the hard decision to rework the script and listen to the screeners. (Why have screeners if you don’t listen to them right? )
Instead of admitting they had a potential, high dollar rotten egg on their hands, the movie studio said the cause of the delay was converting the movie to 3D. With a budget rumored at $125 million, you bet it was a big decision for everyone involved to carry the cost of that another 9 months. Now they are more than ready to recoup and profit.
If the movie is half as good as the trailers and this clip below, they should have nothing to worry about. GI Joe 2 hits theaters this month on March 28th.
Movie Poster and Trailer Release for Third Installment of “The Hangover”.
If the movie poster for The Hangover Part III looks familiar, it’s because it’s a parody of the one for Harry Potter and The Death of Hallows: PartII.
I think the Hangover franchise has run its course and this movie poster basically confirms that. Where the Harry Potter poster boasts the phrase, “It All Ends” at the bottom, The Hangover lists it at the top.
The poster was released on Twitter and shows Mr. Chow face to face in a death stare with Alan. Although not as dramatic as Harry and Voldemort they do show Vegas in a blazing inferno in the backdrop.
Other than the poster, there has been very little marketing of the film which is due to hit theaters on Memorial Day. The first Hangover took in $467 million worldwide, making it the biggest original R-rated comedy ever….until Ted. The Hangover II which is not considered an “original” comedy did even better than the first earning $581 million. If the third one tops $600 million do you think there will be a 4?
Although that would be a good problem to have for the movie studio they won’t have to worry about that for two reason. One, is that the long awaited Hangover II was a disappointment to most, and two, It’s flaw might be the Memorial Day release. It will be going up against the sixth installment of Fast & Furious. Good Luck.
Google Teams up with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson for their New Movie. Watch the Trailer.
rekindle their movie magic with “The Internship”. The two comedians play the role of a couple of old guys that find themselves out of work and are forced to get an internship. What better place to work then Google right? The movie follows the two as they try to navigate a new young digital world. They are joined by other notable comedians who also happen to be employed by the tech giant, including Aasif Mandivi, Josh Gad, and B.J. Novak.
The film opens in theaters June 7th. Here’s the Trailer. Do you think this will be better than wedding Crashers?

Watch “The Man of Steel” Official 2nd Trailer. This is Not Your Ordinary Superman!
Every superman fan is hoping that they get this one right. Lord knows the last superman sucked-arse. How can Batman be so good. Scratch that…great. How can Batman be so great and Superman, be so whack! The new official trailer looks like we might be turning the corner. Zack Snyder is destined to bring this franchise up to the level it deserves. Casting Henry Cavill was on point. In the trailer we see an enormous Cavil with and without the beard (I’m a fan of the beard). We also get to see him as a young boy. We catch a glimpse at Russell Crowe as Jor-El, which is also some great casting.
My only criticism is that the trailer lacked significant action, but it does a great job of building the drama. Whereas Spiderman is always somewhat High “Schoolee”, this trailer establishes that Superman is grown up and he’s here to kick some ass. I also see on the trailer that it is produced by Christopher Nolan. How did I NOT know that? I’m an entertainment blogger for crying out loud and I didn’t know this crucial detail. That would explain the “Dark Knight” feel of the trailer and movie. It’s intense!!
I’m definitely liking what I see so far; the trailer did its job. I can’t wait. The Man of Steel hits theaters June 14, 2013.
