NBA Player Nick Young Sued for Sexual Assault
NBA star Nick Young has some explaining to do. A woman is suing the basketball player, claiming he drugged her back in 2011 and then raped her vaginally and anally. She filed the lawsuit anonymously and the details of the rape are quite disturbing. The woman claims she met Nick at Crown Bar in West Hollywood, and he bought her some champagne. That is basically all the woman remembers, because she claims that Nick must have slipped something in the drink.
She says she woke up the next morning in Young’s bed and was bleeding from her vagina and rectum. According to the woman, Nick even admitted to having sex with her but he claims that he stopped because she passed out during the love making. The mystery lady says after she woke up, she demanded that Nick take her home. After he dropped her off, she says she went straight to a rape treatment center and took a rape kit and was tested for STDs. According to her, one of the tests confirmed she had indeed been drugged, and it was determined that her injuries were consistent with other rape victims.
It’s not clear as to why she has waited so long to actually file the lawsuit, but she is really putting everything she has into the lawsuit. She’s suing for sexual assault, sexual battery, false imprisonment and she is demanding unspecified damages. She’s even suing Crown Bar for negligence.

There are reports going around the internets that claim Jason Collins is looking to cash in on his recent fame. As most of you know, Jason Collins shocked the sports world when he became the first active professional athlete to publicly announce he was gay. Ever since his announcement he has been doing interview after interview, and has been in headlines day after day. However, is that just not enough for Collins? Is he really going to write a memoir? No, not anytime soon, at least according to the man himself. He tweeted yesterday
“Contrary to Sportscenter reports, I have no current plans to write any books. Sorry to disappoint my literary loving fans.”
However, reports keep coming in that claim he is indeed working on a book deal. Insiders even claim that Collins is working with the Sports Illustrated writer who worked with Collins on his piece in the magazine. The insider also claims that the book has already been pitched to three major book publishers. However, it appears that the publishers are worried the book might not sale because there might not be anything “new” to put in the book after his detailed article in SI.
Oh, come on! You know there will be a book, and then there will be a movie. It’s the “thing” to do with stories like this. People have to find a way to make money off these things! Life is all about money. I know some people might not want to admit that, but it’s the truth.

NBA Player Jason Collins Announces He’s Gay
If by some chance you haven’t heard the news by now, Jason Collins has become the first openly gay male professional athlete who is still “active” in a major American sport. This is pretty big news and could lead to several other athletes coming out, as well. We all know that Jason Collins is not the only one, there are probably several others out there hiding behind a mask. That is partly why Jason wanted to finally come out, he was tired of having to hide who he truly was. Jason wrote in the May edition of Sports Illustrated,
“I’m a 34-year-old NBA center. I’m black. And I’m gay. I didn’t set out to be the first openly gay athlete playing in a major American team sport. But since I am, I’m happy to start the conversation. I wish I wasn’t the kid in classroom raising his hand and saying, “I’m different.” If I had my way, someone else would have already done this. Nobody has, which is why I’m raising my hand.”
Collins is a 34-year-old veteran in the NBA. He’s been in the league for a total of 12 years and has played for a total of six different teams, most recently he played for the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards this past season. You’re probably wondering, “Well, gee. He’s been around that long, why haven’t I heard of him?” Well, he’s not exactly the greatest basketball player. He has never been that productive on the court, but teams are said to love his locker room presence. He’s got a great work ethic and can come in the game and give the starting center a much needed rest.
Collins has a twin brother who also played in the NBA named Jarron Collins. Jason admits that his brother was shocked by the news. Jason wrote,
“I didn’t come out to my brother until last summer. His reaction to my breakfast revelation was radically different from Aunt Teri’s. He was downright astounded. He never suspected. So much for twin telepathy. But by dinner that night, he was full of brotherly love. For the first time in our lives, he wanted to step in and protect me.”
Since Sports Illustrated published the story on their website yesterday, thousands of people have expressed their support for Collins. Kobe Bryant wrote on his Twitter account,
“Proud of @jasoncollins34. Don’t suffocate who u r because of the ignorance of others #courage.”
Jason Kidd also wrote about Collins on his Twitter account,
“Jason’s sexuality doesn’t change the fact that he is a great friend and was a great teammate.”
Collins has even received a phone call from the President of the United States, Barack Obama. An anonymous White House official revealed that Obama called Collins sometime yesterday and expressed his full support, and also mentioned that he was impressed by his courage.
Damn, a call from the president? That’s when you know you did something big. It’s like getting called to the principal’s office in school, except this time the principal is congratulating you for being gay and not suspending you for starting a food fight in the cafeteria.

The Rock Has Emergency Surgery
Dwanye Johnson better known as simply, ‘The Rock’ had to have emergency surgery Monday to fix severe injuries he suffered in the wrestling ring. The injuries happened during his wrestling match with John Cena back on April 7. It was a pretty big match, considering he was defending his WWE Champion Title. However things didn’t go really well for The Rock that night. Not only did he lose the match, he also suffered a torn abdomen and abductor muscles.
Back on Sunday, The Rock announced the bad news on Twitter,
Saw my Dr who had to push my intestines back thru the tear in my abdomen. Kinda romantic.Surgery is next week. #BringItOn

The emergency surgery ended up going down Monday night, which caused The Rock to miss the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie, “Pain & Gain”. The director of the film, Michael Bay, sent him some lighthearted well wishes from the red carpet,
“Dwayne’s hurt tonight. He was pushing it too hard. (He) needs to grow up and stop wrestling 300-pound men.”
Oh, and if you’re wondering how the surgery went, Dwayne updated everyone on his condition yesterday,

Well, I’m glad the surgery was a success! However, Michael Bay does have a point, why is The Rock still wrestling? I didn’t even know people still watched that stuff anymore. He’s well established in Hollywood now, he doesn’t need to do that whole wrestling thing.
With The Rock’s net worth being estimated at $70 million and hitting the ripe old age of 40, it might be time to hang up the wrestling trunks.

Lamar Odom Good Guy After All?
Another day…another story about Lamar Odom. However, this time it’s actually a good story for Lamar Odom! As you know, Lamar Odom has been receiving some criticism ever since a controversial report came out by ESPN. There has been speculation that Odom has not been using the donations he has received via his charity organization the way he says he has. The ESPN report even hinted at the possibility of Odom giving almost half the money from his charity to his former high school basketball coach.
Well, now we finally have some good news to report. It turns out that Lamar Odom might not be such a bad guy. A former college basketball star is coming to the defense of Odom, saying he credits his entire career to Odom. He says that Odom rescued him from the streets when his family didn’t have a dime in their pocket and gave him a chance to make something of himself.
Pearson had a great college basketball career at George Mason and is now playing professional basketball overseas, and he credits Lamar Odom for his success. TMZ talked with Pearson’s mother and she had nothing but nice things to say about Odom. She states that Odom saw potential in her son at the young age of 11 at a basketball event. Pearson’s mom told TMZ,
“(Lamar) paid for everything…including team travel, team registration fees, buses and meals. He also funded entire basketball tournaments around New York.”
She also speculated that some of the money probably came from Odom’s charity, ‘Cathy’s Kids.’
So, that doesn’t exactly prove Odom is completely innocent, but at least it proves that he did at least help somebody with the money.
