The film earned a whopping $46,500 it’s first week in theaters.  Do you have any idea how little money that is for a major motion picture? Comparatively, The Avengers made that much in one theater this weekend.

Miley was brave enough to actually show her face in Hollywood yesterday after tweeting how proud she was of the film,

‘Thank u so much for everyone who went to see LOL, It is a film I loved making and I am proud of. That’s all that matters to me.’

Yeah, all 5,100 people who rushed out to see it.  Half of those people were probably too late to The Avengers and had nothing else left to see.

Unfortunately my dear Miley and I’m sure your agent has already told you this, that’s not all that matters.  This is an indicator that you can’t put asses in seats, which means your box office value has plummeted.  It won’t have the same effect on Demi Moore because she wasn’t cast to bring in the tweens.  Her rates most likely will remain unchanged.

THIS IS NOT MILEY’S FAULT

The movie, which is a remake of a French film of the same title, was actually completed in 2010, but Lionsgate decided to release it this weekend.  I’m not sure who decided it was a good idea to put it up against “The Avengers” but somebody should be fired.  Not to mention the fact that I hadn’t seen any promos for the movie at all. Miley vs Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth, is totally unfair.

Lionsgate will now attempt to recover some of its investment through DVD rentals/sales.

NOT THE LOWEST EARNING MOVIE EVER

At least they didn’t get that title.  Actually that belongs to Grey’s Anatomy’s Katherine Heigel.  She did a movie called, “Zyzzyx Road”, which also starred Tom Sizemore.  It was a thriller that cost $1.2 million to make back in 2006 and ran at one theater at noon for a week.  The recorded earnings were only $30.  This makes $46,500 look like a windfall!

There’s a small chance that LOL can do better this upcoming weekend then it did it’s first, but I wouldn’t count on it. Miley’s next movie is titled “So Undercover” staring Kelly Osbourne and Entourage’s Jeremy Piven.  Cyrus plays and undercover private eye hired by the FBI to investigate a sorority.  Oy vey!  The brightside is it can’t do any worse then LOL.

“This isn’t a car”.

The Batman growl is sick.  Christian Bale is going to kill this role as usual.  Those who were hating on Anne Hathaway have to give it to her after watching this trailer.  She looks the part of catwoman for sure.

This will be the last trailer until the movie’s release date.  I think it might be already safe to say that this movie might not outperform “Spiderman” and “The Avengers”, but it will out thrill, out suspense and out haunt them.  Who knows with a little luck, the right weather conditions it might beat them at the box office too….all with no super powers.  Peep the trailer below.

There you have it.

Lionsgate’s response was equally as politically correct and non-revealing to any other issues that might have caused Ross to backout,

‘He did an incredible job on the first film and we are grateful for his work. This will not be the end of our relationship, as we consider Ross to be part of the Lionsgate family and look forward to working with him in the future.’

HOW MUCH WAS GARY ROSS PAID FOR “HUNGER GAMES”?

I know that everyone always wants to know how much money is on the table.  Ross was paid $3 million which initially seemed like a lot until Hunger Games begin crushing the box office.  Ross is no dummy, he negotiated 5% of the film’s profit, making Ross a very wealthy and happy man right about now.  That wealth continues to grow with every passing week, and should be downright obese by the DVD release.

Ross is basically taking Jerry Seinfeld’s advice to George,

Showmanship, George. When you hit that high note, you say goodnight and walk off.

Ross has shattered box office records and is still on track to break more. He’s killed it and left some really hard shoes to fill. He is now saying goodnight and walking off.  Legacy cemented.  When there is no place to go but down….that’s the perfect time to quit.

Good for him!

The problem is the star of the show – Kristen Wiig.  She doesn’t want to do

“We aren’t working on that a sequel.

What does she mean, “we aren’t working on that”?  Well, what she means is, she actually co-wrote the first one with Annie Mumolo.  She tells Hollywood Reporter,

Annie and I aren’t planning a sequel. We are writing something else.”

Ron Meyer tried to convince Wiig over  a dinner with what was most likely a huge six figure dollar pay day, and she still didn’t budge.  She is not working on the a sequel.

Rumor has it, that the $100,000 bonus check the 7 women each received was an insult based on the huge return of the movie.  At least Wiig who co-wrote the feature film should have for sure received more.

Of course with money to be made, Universal wont’ let a little thing like Wiig stand in the way.

“We are over the moon with the success of Bridesmaids, and if we do a sequel we want to get it right,” a Universal.  We are talking to filmmakers now about concepts, and if the right one emerges, we’ll move forward.”

Unviersal has already proven that they will make a sequel no matter how big the star is that’s missing.  The next Bourne movie, is being shot without Bourne!  Matt Damon is out!  Universal does not play around.

When it comes down to low investment, big box office return movies, Universal will pull out all the stops.  The Hangover 3 is already in the works.

Ideally you would want a “Bad Boys” type of feel or “Rush Hour”.  Those are cop movies that are action first, and comedy 2nd.  Very hard to pull off but extremely rewarding at the box office.  It looks amusing, and it’s nice to see Ice Cube, but it certainly doesn’t have me jumping online to get my movie tickets.

This basically meaningless story is strictly a treat for my women fans.  The 19 year old Lautner is working the circuit promoting his new movie Abduction – which did less then expected numbers at the box office bringing in $11 million and taking 4th place.  He actually got beat out of third place by “Dolphin Tale”.

Although “Bridesmaids” killed it at the box office, Wilson was fired from her last gig.  She was a spokesperson for Fresh Diet.

“Carnie Wilson was let go as spokesperson for The Fresh Diet after losing only 19 lbs. on the program — and then gaining it all back (plus some) after she launched her own cheesecake company,Carnie’s response on getting fired,

“I’m fat as f**k, what can I say? You know, after all these years, it’s just like we are who we are and it’s a struggle for me and sometimes I’m heavier and sometimes I’m thinner.”

DAAAYYUUUUMMM!

She has also been trying to sue the Game Show Network for unpaid wages from her reality show, “’Carnie Wilson: Unstapled”, it was canceled but the network stiffed her over $200,000 in pay.

I personally think if her house is about to get foreclosed on, then something has gone terribly wrong.  She has made a ton of money for decades.  She was a staple in the music industry as her father was one of the founders of the Beach Boys, and she was part of her own group called Wilson Phillips!

By today’s celebrity standards a 1.6 Million dollar house is like living in the hood, so where is all her money?

Trust me from the pics of her house below, it’s no hood, but it’s not “uber” luxurious either.
