Jay-Z and Duracell Team Up for New Ad for the Duracell Powermat. [video]
Usually if Jay-Z or Beyoncé fart loud it’s all over the internet before the smell hits the air. For some reason I hadn’t heard much about this Duracell commercial or Jay’s deal with Duracell. The ad spot is specifically for Duracell’s new Powermat.
Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna’s song “Run this Town” is playing in the background while we follow a day in the life a young New Yorker played by Michael Galante. (Everyone was wondering who that was in the commercial)
TVST => Galante’s nationality is Filipino and Italian and if he gets his ‘ish together he can make a name for himself and a lot of money. He’s got a look that should be capitalized on.
…continuing on…. we are following Galante through his day while watching his I-phone battery stay charged at 100% because he is using the Powermat while everyone else around him is struggling to stay powered up. Galante is at work, at dinner and then hits the club with his power bars on high. Finally at the end of what it appears to be a Friday night, Galante hits the club with friends and puts his Iphone down on the table next to one that looks just like his. When one of the phones rings, he picks it up and it says “B” is calling. He thinks it’s his phone but can’t figure out who “B” is. It turns out, it’s Beyonce. Then you see a hand gesturing for him to hand the phone over.
The hand belongs to Jay Z. Galante had a nice little city flow going until then – Jay-Z’s flow just kills it. He gives Galante a look and then walks off answering the phone.
This is part of Jay-Z’s partnership with Duracell. He is the new spokesperson for the Powermat and an investor in Duracell. During his announcement of the partnership Hov said,
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution, I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
Here is the commercial. Kinda hot for a stodgy old brand like Duracell.
Romney’s “With Mitt” App So Far Doing More Social Harm Than Good.
Mitt Romney’s iPhone App misspelling is turning out to be a bigger deal then bargained for.
He can thank the internet for that, and whoever he hired to create and launch the app. The app was basically supposed to allow users to take a picture of themselves with 14 pro-Romney Slogans and then share them on the internet. Not a great idea, but not that bad either. Way to go Mitt, integrating some social media into your campaign.

There were 14 slogans available but the one that got most people’s attention was. “A Better America”. Except that it was spelled “A Better Americia”. YIKES!!
In a quick effort to clean things up, Mitt’s people submitted an update to the app but as we know that takes a little time to work its way through the approval process at Apple, in the meantime the internet went after the app and has been going crazy with it.
The one thing that the app was supposed to do, is now doing the opposite. It’s creating a mockery of Romney’s campaign instead of supporting it. Some early tweets that came through were:
“Sorry about the shaking California, that was just the rest of America laughing at Mitt Romney running for Pres. of #Amercia,”
“If you’re applying for a job, and you misspell the name of the company you want to work for, you won’t get that job. #Amercia,”
“Amercia Is With Mitt.”
A tumblr site was quickly created and people began to post the pictures that they have taken with the App, pointing fun at Romney. We haven’t seen this many jokes since the days of Bush.

Johnny Depp is Being Sued by a Medical Professor, Says bodyguards Dragged Her Out with her Pants Down!
A woman only described as Jane Doe in a the actual law suit claims that she suffered injuries to the “extreme and outrageous” humiliation from Johnny Depp’s body guard.
The incident took place at the Hollywood Palladium in L.A during an Iggy Pop show (her first mistake). The law suit alleges that Mrs. Jane Doe was in attendance with her husband in the VIP section when Johnny’ security forcibly removed her. She says that they basically picked her up, right out of her shoes, and ruffled her clothes. They roughed her up.
She also says they restrained her wrists and tried to pry her iPhone out of her hands, one finger at a time.
OH IT GETS BETTER……
The bodyguards then hand cuffed her and drug her out of the place. While they were dragging her out, her pants fell down and she was ass-out. Or as she says, her buttocks were exposed to the other Hollywood Palladium Theater Patrons.
SO WHY SUE JOHNNY AND NOT JUST THE BODYGUARDS?
The woman claims that Johnny Depp was fully aware of what was going on. In fact he was the one that told them to do it. As she claims, he was,
“supplying direct supervision and management of his security guards and directing their current and future actions.”
She said they were all “huddled and speaking to one another” before the incident.
JUST HOW BANGED UP WAS SHE?
She had cuts, bruising, scrapes, swelling, hyper-pigmentation, bleeding and a dislocated elbow. She also said she suffers from of spondyloarthritis and fibromyalgia and the entire incident made her conditions worse.
She is suing both the Hollywood Palladium and Johnny Depp for negligence, assault, battery, false imprisonment, intentional infliction of emotional distress and discriminatory practices in public accommodations.
She might actually win something. This sounds legit. This isn’t some crazy wanting money. She has enough money to pay for the VIP section. When I looked her up she is a UC Irvine medical professor. Talk about instant credibility regarding medical conditions. This is going to be interesting. Time to lawyer-up Johnny.

Taylor Lautner “Coming Out” People Magazine Cover a Fake. He’s Not Gay….yet. [photo]
That’s why we always check our sources. The magazine is a FAKE! I was tempted to believe it, only because I have my suspicions about Taylor but to go as far as to hook up a fake People cover…DAYUM!
I have to admit it looked real, and on my Iphone it looks super real. When the story came through, I was sold. Then Uncle Rush (aka Russell Simmons) came through on twitter supporting the actor….before he and his Online Mag Global Grind also found out it was fake. Simmons had to Re-tract the Tweet.
HOW DO WE KNOW IT’S A FAKE COVER?
The Photoshop artist really did their thing on this, even putting a fake quote from Lautner,
“Tired of rumors, the Twilight star opens up about his decision to finally come out, I’m more liberated, and happier than I’ve ever been.”
Convincing?? But look at the side bar…..It’s from the May 2006 Issue (below). Nice Try!!

Eric Sermon has heart attack, but HE IS ALIVE!!
That was close! We almost lost another heavy weight (no “Big Pun” intended) from the hip hop community. Erick Sermon from the group EPMD Aka the Green Eyed Bandit has been hospitalized. The news came over my Iphone that he had a heart attack but is OK.
The news actually came via a tweet from DJ Scratch. It said the 42 year old seemed to be stable.
PHEW!!
MTV news then posted an update on his condition, reporting that he is listed in stable condition but remains in the coronary care unit.
“Erick Sermon had a heart attack today,” DJ Scratch wrote. “He’s ok, but still send your prayers. He is not on Twitter.”

The Situation Kicked Out of A Vegas Apple Store and Called a D-bag on Twitter
The Situation couldn’t stay out of the news for too long before he got himself into another Situation. He was trying to get his hands on an iPhone 4S. Apparently he thought that he was too much of a superstar to wait in line at the Apple Store at the Fashion Show Mall in Las, Vegas Navada.
However an Apple employee begged to differ. He Peeped The Sitch’s antics and threw him out of the store!
No one gets away with anything at the Apple Store. The news hit the airwaves before the doorknob could hit Sorentino in the a$$ on the way out. Artist Laurenn McCubbin broke the news on her twitter – she also calls The Situation king of the DB’s. Ha ha!!
What “The Situation” didn’t know is that Apple Don’t play. When the 4s first came out, Steve Wozniak, the co-founder of Apple even had to wait in line for his!
