Kris Humphries is on top of the world. He landed a huge $24 million deal with the nets. No, sorry. The “Brooklyn” Nets.
JAY DIDN’T DROP HIM FROM THE TEAM!
After securing is monies, Humphries decided to take to twitter for some retribution. After an entire spring and half a summer of dancing to Kanye’s diss on TheraFlu….(come on, now sing it with me),
‘And I admit I fell in love with Keeeiiimm around the same time she ell in love with heeeiiiim,
‘Well that’s cool, baby girl do your thing, Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the team
Now Humphries has what would be the only adequate response,
‘I’m up at Brooklyn! @S_C_ “lucky I didn’t have Jay drop me from the team” lol!’
And that’s more poking fun of himself and making light of the situation then taking shots at Kanye. Why would he have to go at Ye? He’s already wifed’ and smashed your chick.
By the way for those who don’t know @S_C_ is Jay-Z’s twitter handle….and that $24 million is over two years, so we are talking major money for Kris Humphries. The nets were in a tight situation and needed to have a big man but didn’t want to go into any longer term contracts so they have room to trade in the next two seasons. Just think, at $12 million per year Hump is making the same as Tim Duncan, Al Horford, Josh Smith and Kevin Garnett.
Although he put in a lot of off season work, this deal is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time.
Nets general manager Billy King basically tried to justify the huge spend for Humphries,
‘He has developed into one of the top rebounding forwards in the league, and we are very pleased to welcome him back.’
With 8 years in the league, Humphries is now playing solid basketball. He killed it personally in the 2011-12 season averaging 13.8 points, 11 rebounds and shooting .481 from the field.
He’s also averaged a double-double in two consecutive seasons.
He was drafted 14th overall in the 2004 Draft by Utah and played in Toronto and Dallas before being traded to the Nets.Read more...
