The donation came at the heels of a tweet.  Cuban’s friend and reporter for the NY Nnicks, Jill Martin saw a tweet that was asking for help.  The tweet was sent on behalf of the Church of the Nazarene, stating that they needed “food and baby essentials ASAP”.

Jill Martin was inspired and decided to roll up her sleeves and pitch in.  She collected donations and delivered supplies personally to the church meeting with the pastor, Revered Dr. Mullings.

Jill then began posting her own messages on twitter to her 168,000 plus followers.  This got the attention of none other than Mark Cuban who made the donation.

Cuban is #206 on the Forbes 400 and #188 in the United States.  Respectively $100,000 to Cuban is like $40 to you and I, but it will still go a long way.  Good lookin’ out “Cubes” – BTW Don’t ever call him “Cubes”.

Cuban labels the transaction a trade versus an investment.  He classifies and investment as a longer term commitment and a trade as a short in and out.  He says the issuance of 421 million shares was why he knew it would be a gamble.

“I mean if you look at other companies like LinkedIn they issued 8.4 million shares and the stock skyrocketed. If Facebook would have come out with 8.4 million shares, instead of 421 million, the stock would be at about $200 right now. So it was just the circumstances that led to me getting in and out,”

Cuban is a pioneer of the internet space.  He sold Broadcast.com to yahoo back in 1999 for $5.04 billion dollars, a website that today just redirects to yahoo’s home page.  He sold his shares quickly as he knew just how volatile the internet space was and was able to liquidate a fortune.

MOBILE ADS ARE THE FUTURE

Cuban says that serving up ads in the mobile space will be the next challenge; not just for facebook but for other companies like Google ad Zynga as well.

“Everybody is dealing with the same issues.  I think you will see an increase of monetization on the mobile level. But if Facebook can’t do it, everybody else has the same risk and the same problem.”

If you are still holding your shares then you have seen some nice gains over the week.  Investors who got in at 26 are happy, but on the other side of the spectrum those who got in at 45 a month ago are looking for the dislike button and ready to de-friend Zuckerberg.

In case you were wondering if any of the Sharks have money like Mark Cuban.  No and yes.  If you watch the show religiously like I do then you know exactly who Robert is.  He’s the guy I would most likely do business with.  From humble beginnings Robert respects hard work and ingenuity.   He often speaks of his father who was jailed 18 times while trying to get his family out from under Yugoslavia’s communist regime and into Canada.  Robert says,

“He loved this country. I love this country. You really can do anything. Look at me. I came on a ship with one suitcase and here I am driving a Ferrari.”

In my opinion this is one of the reason’s he is the most well rounded Shark.  His swag is noticeable but not overbearing like Cuban, his business savvy rivals that of Mr. Wonderfall and his strategic selection of deals to go after is as selective as Damian’s.

Cuban might have a “B” in front of his networth but Robert Herjevec has over 100 “m’s” as in over $100 million. That’s enough money to crash a $350,000 car and be able to sleep at night.  Did I mention he hit a wall at 130 MPH.

THE CRASH

He was actually racing during the Ferrari Challenge at Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA

He was driving a 2012 Ferrari 458.  The base price for this car is about $258,000.   Once you modify it for racing you quickly approach the $350K mark.   Robert smashed his car during the qualifying rounds of the challenge.  Herjavec told TMZ about the crash,

 ”I crashed in qualifying — bad and hard hit.”

“I was having an amazing lap very fast, just off the course record, and then just thought I could go a little faster (what race car driver doesn’t?).”

But that didn’t knock Robert out of the running.  He was uninjured and determined.  He borrowed someone else’s car and continued to race.

 ”After the crash I went out and borrowed a friend’s car and 2 hours later I started in 29th and finished 5th. The next day, in the borrowed car, I got on the podium and finished 3rd ! Still leading in the points for the season.”

Personally I wouldn’t let my friend borrow a Hyundai if he just crashed his car into a wall, but then again, I don’t have $100 million, or $100 thousand…..maybe $100? Nope!

This isn’t a rumor, it’s a fact from the mouths of the couple themselves.  During E!’s upfront presentation they stopped to make a statement and address the rumors.

They stated,

Our show is not canceled,

Lamar and I have just chosen to take a break this summer. I feel like we’ve been on a whirlwind and doing back-to-back shows. We just want to take a little time off for Lamar to be with family time, kids, basketball, Olympics, you never know. We have a lot on our plate right now.

Odom then chimed in,

We just want to be happy, We’ll take our time and we’ll get back to it when it’s time.

The original report stated that they were pulling the plug on the show and that another show would be launching with Khloe, no Odom.

Odom’s recent trade from the Lakers to the Mavericks has ended him up on the unemployment line so the focus needs to be getting his basketball career on track.  There is no time for cameras, s3x swings and Kanye when you have a real job that pays millions, or used to pay millions.  After his eleven season run with the Lakers he was traded to the Maverick where he had his worse season ever.  After clashing with Mark Cuban he was put on the inactive list and then booted from the team.  Reports are that he has moved back to L.A., hired a personal trainer and is focused on getting his on court mojo back.  I don’t expect to see him back on TV until he retires.
