Oprah – Jumping the Shark to Save OWN. Miami Heat the Latest Newsmakers to Get Interviewed.
When I say jumping the shark, I’m not sure if that is entirely fair. But it’s no fluke that Oprah has gone from interviewing living legends such as Sean Penn, Steven Tyler & Joel Osteen to 50 Cent, Carrie Underwood, Kim Kardashian and now the Miami Heat.
A LITTLE MORE ON THE HEAT…
LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh agreed to be on Oprah’s next chapter and in typical “Next Chapter” fashion, Oprah came to them, meeting them at the American Airline’s Arena. After the parade on Monday Oprah started being the annoying mom figure and blowing up her twitter with pictures of in the process of the interview, her holding up the NBA Finals trophy as well as a photo of herself with the Big Three. She then tweeted,
“Hangin with the guys! – Wore my highest heels and still felt short.”
IS THE STRATEGY WORKING
Yes, Oprah’s strategy is working indeed. Everyone just wanted and needed, more Oprah. Mix that with some guests that are actually making daily headlines and you can’t lose. The 2nd part of the 2 Part Kardashian interview set OWN’s record for the 3rd highest rated broadcast in OWN’s history bringing in 1.2 million viewers. Joel Osteen brought in 1.6 million viewers and Whitney Houston’s daughter brought in 3.5 million.
A lot of the changes that Oprah has put in place, including giving Rosie the boot appears to be working and working well. The network just had its second quarter in a row where it’s experienced double digit growth. Primetime viewership has increased 10% and daily viewers are up 31% . Oprah just might be able to pull this thing off.

Jessica Sanchez Starts off the NBA Finals with her Rendition of the National Anthem! [video]
Watch American idol runner up Jessica Sanchez sing the national anthem during the first game of the NBA Playoffs. This is the 2nd time in less than a week she’s been on Anthem duty. She also sung during the Paquiao – Bradley fight where Bradley went on to beat Paquiao in one of the biggest boxing upsets in recent history.
If Sanchez wasn’t a sports fan before she is now. Before yesterdays’ NBA finals game one of her twitter followers asked her who she had picked to win and her reply was
“im all about thunder tonight!
”
That turned out to be a solid pick. Thunder rained on the Miami Heat 105 to 94 to take the first game of the series. I wonder if she also picked Bradley. She might have missed her calling,

Celebrities Take Hooded Pictures as A Response to Geraldo’s Tweet, Showing Support to Trayvon Martin [Photos]
It looks like this one is not going away that easy folks. More and more celebrities are showing their support for Trayvon Martin by taking pictures of themselves wearing hoods in support of the slain High Schooler.
Geraldo Rivera didn’t realize it, but he sparked a “Hoodie” movement with his insensitive, ignorant, tweet,
“His hoodie killed Trayvon Martin as surely as George Zimmerman,”

I Want to be Like Mike, Lebron James Also Gets Engaged to His Girlfriend, Savannah Brinson
Following in his idols footsteps, James pops the question to Savanna Brinson. We didn’t have to look further then twitter for conformation, as it came from none other than Chris Paul and Micky Arison.

IT’S CHEAPER TO KEEP HER
Lebron and Savannah have been dating since he was crashing boards in high school. They Both attended St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Akron, Ohio. Despite living in a $9 million dollar mansion in Florida, Savannah isn’t any gold digger…..or if she is, she planned well.
They have two kids together already (LeBron Jr., who is seven, and Bryce, who is four)…..and she dated Lebron back when he looked like this……
….For that reason alone…she deserves a ring.
There has been no date set yet, we haven’t seen a picture of the ring, and we forgive Lebron for the pants.

I kind of sort of forgot that Dwayne Wade was dating Gabrielle Union. For those who didn’t know, now you know. Union rocking the Miami Heat bikini was confirmation. Gabrielle looks so good that you overlook the fact that Wade is only 29 years old and she is 37.
