Why Did Lupe Fiasco Break Down in Tears On MTV’s RapFix Live? [Video]
On MTV’s RapFix Live, Lupe was there with Sway and they watched a 2006 throw back video called “My Block”. Fiasco was able to reflect back to that moment he was in the film 6 years ago and it was an emotional experience for him. The video was about how he grew up in Chicago, gang violence he witnessed and why he does positive rap.
After the clip, Lupe realized that a lot of those people in the video are either in prison or murdered. It was too much for him to bear and in a rare hip hop moment he broke down in tears. He said,
“Some of them dudes are dead, Chicago the murder capital. It’s dude in that video in a prison. A couple of fed cases and then there’s ghosts. You see people that aint there. you’re just trying to make it better and come up out of it. Some of those kids aint gonna make it out of there’
Usually I say men shouldn’t cry on TV, only when losing or winning championships, however this time I give Lupe a pass.

Brad Pitt’s Brother Stars in Virgin Mobile Ad – But the Ad Sucks!
The first thing that grabs you about this ad, is that Brad Pitt’s brother certainly looks like Brad. At first you aren’t even listening to what he’s saying, you are just thinking,
Damn! He looks like his Brother
Then if you are a guy you are wondering if he was able to nail a ridiculous amount of chicks being Brad’s brother and looking like him……if you are a chick, you are probably wondering if you cut his hair and dressed him up right, would he look exactly like Brad…….Then slowly you start to pay attention to the commercial.
The spot basically takes a glimpse at Brad’s brother Doug as he lives a super regular life. So regular in fact, that he makes my life look almost as good as I tell everyone it is on facebook.
Besides the guy living in a decent house in a decent neighborhood, he’s does a great job at looking just as boring as someone who looks like Brad Pitt could possibly be. The guy does a great job.
BUT THE COMMERCIAL SUCKS!
I say the ad blows because you have no idea why you are watching this ad. What is this guy is selling. There is one point where he is watching and describing his mini-van and you think to yourself,
Aha! Must be a mini-van commercial. Brilliant!
If that was true, it would be brilliant. He’s washing and describing the mini-van, he’s gassing it up….but it’s not a minivan commercial. It’s a Virgin mobile ad.
It’s called “A Fair Go For All”. I had to google it, because the commercial really doesn’t tell me much.
Basically they want the consumer to know that you don’t have to be famous to get Rock Star Deals. The website they want you to visit is: http://fairgobro.com.au/#latest-offers where they show you the ad and some “Celebrity Deals at Celebrity Brother Prices” .
The ad might go viral, but I bet less than .5% of the people who watch it visit the site.
Here you tell me if this ad sucks or not.
Joanna Johnson Comes Out: ‘The Bold And The Beautiful’ Star Reveals She’s A Lesbian
Joanna Johnson who plays a lesbian on “The Bold and the Beautiful” is also a lesbian in real life. On the show her character Karen is in the closet but she wants her fans and others to know that she is a lesbian in real life.
She opened up to TV Guide Magazine revealing that she has been married to a woman for the last 9 years. According to Hollywood standards 9 years married in Hollywood is like 25 in real life! Her wife’s name is Michelle Agnew and they also have two children, Julian age 5 and Harlow age 2.
The actress is actually good friends with Ellen but at no time did Ellen pressure her to come out. As a 50 year old she grew up in a different time where being a lesbian was just not tolerated. This scared Johnson to death. Johnson says,
“I was so worried I wouldn’t be employable as an actress if people knew I was a lesbian, Or that I wouldn’t be believable in romance stories. I had to deal with a lot of self-loathing.”
She also saw the impacts that coming out had on Ellen’s career so this added to her concerns.
When Ellen came out she took a big hit. It certainly hurt her career as an actress…I really admire the courage of people who have been out and noisy. I had to struggle to become proud
Her decision to come out was fueled by her return to the Soap that made her a star. Her character is in the closet and slowly coming out per the script. Johnson says about her “Bold and the Beautiful Character”,
Karen is married to this great lady Dani and together they have raised her daughter Caroline, so times have certainly changed.
‘I guess that’s why I’m ready to open up. It feels weird and wrong to play this revelation about Karen’s life and not talk about my own.’
This is a case of life imitating art.

Negative Advanced Reviews of The Dark Knight has caused Rotten tomatoes To Suspend user Commentary
This is the first time that the website ever had to do something like this. Apparently Dark Knight fans went a little off the deep end after some early negative reviews were posted regarding the movie. Some of the comments were rude, profane and threatening to the respected critics behind the reviews.
The site’s editor and chief, Matt Atchity says that the comments will probably be back up when the movie releases on Friday. The negative comments came so fast and furious that the staff couldn’t keep up. Atchity explained,
He thinks the site will go to facebook based commenting which will put faces to statements and stop ITGS (Internet Tough Guy Syndrome). The facebook commenting system posts the comments publicly with your face and your wall on facebook. It’s hard to make a threat, say something racist or homophobic when everyone you know will know that you were behind the comments.
Sites similar to Rotten Tomatoes don’t let the commentators comment on reviews before a film opens. This doesn’t seem like an effective solution but it really is. When the film opens you start to get viewers posting negative reviews that have no Agenda and now the critics are not alone in their opinions.
The Dark Knight has received a 84% fresh rating on the site, but some notable critics have been giving it “not so good’ reviews. Chrisy Lemiure from The Associated Press called the movie a “letdown”. But most reviews (Rolling Stone, CinemaBlend) say it’s one of the best Super Hero Movies EVER!
My question to you is, “would one or two bad reviews from notable critics of a movie as epic as The Dark Knight really stop you from seeing it for yourself?” NOT A CHANCE.
