Co-Founder of TMZ, Jim Paratore is Dead at Age 58.
Jim Paratore, the man behind some of the best shows on modern TV has died. At just age 58 Paratore suffered a heart attack while cycling in France!
I’m sure there are a ton of people who have no idea who Jim Paratore is; basically he’s like the Sherwood Charles Schwartz of our time. WHO THE F**K IS THAT.
Ok two people you don’t know. How about this, Paratore played major roles in creating and launching “The Ellen Degeneres Show”, “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” & “The Bachelor”.
Not enough hits for you…how about “The People’s Court”, “Extra” and he co-founded TMZ.
I thought that would get your attention.
TMZ stands for Thirty mile zone. It basically represents a 30 mile radius centered at West Beverly Boulevard and North La Cinega Boulverd. Any filming in this zone was considered local, anything outside of that area, mileage and travel time could be charged. Hence TMZ was born. Paratore took pride in always getting the story right. Whether you like it or not, TMZ is everywhere celebrity gossip is.
Paratore was a young 58 when he died. Many people owe their careers to this man who was a hidden star behind the scenes. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Definitely an inspiration for me and what TV Smack talk does and stands for. RIP Jim. Your contributions are not lost on this webmaster.

Barack Makes Another Historical Decision – He Officially Supports Gay Marriage and Hollywood Cheers him On!
Barack made another historical move today, one that I believe was necessary if he wants to get re-elected. During an interview with ABC News, the Barack-ness Monster came out and said that he now supports gay marriage. When I say that it was necessary, I mean from the stand point of his indecision was hurting him from both sides, so he had to choose one, and he chose the left. Just yesterday morning on “The View” Elisabeth Hasselbeck was calling Obama out on is lack of positioning. Inferring that he was not a real leader because of it. Well, TAKE THAT ELISABETH!
Do you realize how huge this is? I mean that’s Rosie O’Donnell huge – Yes Pun intended. She’s Gay!
BIDEN DID IT AGAIN
Joe Biden, who is known for putting his foot in the President’s mouth as well as his own, expressed his support after North Carolina outlawed same sex marriage. The state voted to keep an amendment in place that keeps the legal definition of marriage confined to just man and woman. Biden’s outright support threw a spotlight on Obama’s lack of support. This forced Obama to either put up or shut up.
It appears the Gay and Lesbian population have Sacha and Malia, the President’s daughters to thank for the his decision. Obama says,
“There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we’re talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn’t dawn on them that somehow their friends’ parents would be treated differently, It doesn’t make sense to them and frankly, that’s the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.”
Robin Roberts scored the interview which will air on todays’ Good Morning America, which gets replayed on HULU so everyone can see it. Highlights of the interview were aired last night during ABC World News. I bet Good Morning America will beat the Today show one more time in ratings because this will be huge.
HOLLYWOOD APPROVES
Hollywood has been hitting up twitter giving the POTUS his props,
Ellen DeGeneres tweeted, “Thank you President @BarackObama for your beautiful and brave words. I’m overwhelmed.”
Suze Orman wrote, “I am soooo PROUD of you PRESIDENT OBAMA YES YES YES it is about time. Marriage Equality is so very very important.”
Tyra Banks, “A fierce day for my gays and my prez @BarackObama – way 2 stand up 4 luv for ALL!”
Kim Kardashin went past twitter and took it to her website!
“This is such a huge step forward in our country’s fight for civil rights and I hope that today this will give hope to so many young people across the country, We’ve never had a president so supportive of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and today I am proud to be an American!! I’m so happy that our country is making history and moving forward. No more living in the past!”
Let’s just hope these same people do a little more than tweet and post. Hosting a few rally’s would help because it’s going to be a tight Presidential race and Mitt is ready. There is no doubt the President made a good call, let’s just see if it was good for his reelection as well. Obama made the announcement just in time for his $40K per seat dinner at George Clooney’s house where he is targeting raising $12 Million dollars. This decision should at least help him hit that number.

Rosie O”Donnell and Michelle Rounds Announce Engagement
Back in September I reported how Rosie met her new girlfriend at a Starbucks in Manhattan, well now Rosie is taking that relationship to another level. She popped the question and is officially engaged to Michelle Rounds.
Rosie announced the news during a commercial break while taping her show and the tweeted a pic of Michelle rockin her new ring.
The couple plans on getting hitched during the Christmas holiday although there haven’t been any venues confirmed as of yet.
The media describes Michelle Rounds as a business woman but she is actually a head hunter for a tech company. I think she is a business woman because she is marrying a millionaire. Why else could she be with Rosie?
When it comes to Rosie O’Donnell, I’m with Donald Trump. She is a fat, disgusting cow. Period. How she managed to pull Michelle Rounds, who in my opinion and in Rosie’s own words, out of her league, I will never know. She looks well younger than her 40 years.
I guess I can’t hate, so I will congratulate. Congrats Rosie, let’s hope this one lasts.

‘Jon and Kate Plus 8’ Editor Arrested on Child Pornography Charges during Police Sting
This is the 2nd child porn story this week. The worse is that this guy worked around kids, lots and lots of kids. He was the editor for kids shows on TLC.
He was part of a North Carolina Sting called Operation Spyglass. He’s one of 24 men who got popped for possession and distribution of child pornography.
56 year old William “Bill” Blankinship has been arrested and charged on 10 counts of child pornography.
He is accused of third degree sex exploitation of a minor, which means he possessed material containing a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity.
Not only did Bill work on “Jon and Kate” he also did editing for “17 kids and counting” and Table for 12. That’s like Rosie O’Donnell doing the editing for Cake Boss. People have to be freaked out after hearing this because I certainly am.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
The State Bureau of Investigation received a tip in August about child pornography and found that a computer used to download images since March was connected to an account at 1909 McDonald Lane, according to a search warrant.
Two computers and three hard drives were seized in a search of the home, and SBI agents found more than 200 files depicting suspected child exploitation and abuse that were available for distribution, according to a search warrant.
Among the others that were arrested during Operation Spy Glass, an active-duty Marine, a teacher, and a firefighter.
In one case, Cooper said, investigators raided a house and found a young girl being physically abused. In other cases, authorities seized computers containing thousands of illegal photos and videos of abused children. They however don’t go into details of the Operaton, just that it involves cooperation from the internet providers and the latest technology.
Blankinship was not a direct employee for TLC but he worked for a company called Figure 8 Films. Of course they fired him after hearing about the allegations.
They stated quite clearly,
“Bill Blankinship was employed by Serious Robots, with whom Figure 8 Films subcontract for editing services. Upon learning of the shocking allegations his employment was terminated. At no time was this man ever in the field or in direct contact with any of the talent for any of our productions.”
Yeah..he just looked at hours and hours of footage of kids everyday. I love the statement from the editing company. He wasn’t charged with rape, he was charged for possessing and distributing porn so direct contact is not needed. All he needs is pictures of children, which he had in bundles.
Their statement is useless. He had the perfect job that fulfilled his perverted needs, I bet he “loved” coming to work. Yikes!!

NBC Pulls the Plug on the Playboy Club after Only Three Episodes!
I knew it. Not because I knew the show was going to suck, but because I don’t know what the f*ck NBC is doing anymore. They cancelled “Heroes”, then they cancelled “Friday Night Light’s” and then without even a goodbye kiss on the forehead, they cancelled “The Event”.
“The Playboy Club” didn’t stand a chance Twinkies chance in Rosie O’Donnell’s eyesight. Period shows are difficult to pull off (Pan Am will be next). Young people don’t care enough about the 1960’s and older people are watching “Dancing with the Stars”.
NBC was trying to create a “Mad Men-esque” type of show, without being so brazen. But what makes “Made Men” so good? It’s brazenness.
The only real buzz about the show were the protests by the Parents Television Council. When it finally premiered the ratings were low and then continued to drop to a low of 3.4 million viewers. Unacceptable per NBC’s standards.
The PTC released a statement basically to rub salt in NBC’s wounds.
“Bringing The Playboy Club to broadcast television was a poor programming decision from the start. We’re pleased that NBC will no longer be airing a program so inherently linked to a pornographic brand that denigrates and sexualizes women … we hope other broadcasters heed the important lessons of this programming debacle.”
Even worse, if you were hooked on the show you noticed last night that there was no promos for the fourth episode. D’oh!!
In today’s world of “we need a hit now” The Playboy Club is literally a wrap. NBC will run re-runs of “Prime Suspect” in its place.
I’m still wondering if Hugh Hefner got a cut from the show or not.

I still don’t get the whole Rosie phenomena; but I appear to be the only one. Riding the wave of fame and attention that comes with taking Oprah’s OWN network on your back, Rosie visits a Starbucks and meets her new Boo!
When this happened a month ago, I envisioned some nasty looking, short, stocky chick. But no! She’s actually hot. Rosie is pulling “Dime Pieces”. (That’s a 10 on a scale of 1-10).
Michelle Rounds is her name. She is a NYC corporate Head Hunter. I’m not sure what lines Rosie threw at her, but they worked. They were all smiles at the annual Rosie’s Theatre Kids Gala in New York City. A source tells “People” magazine,
‘They are adorable together and are very, very happy,’
Rosie better get focused because she is airing her new show on October 10th and the pressure is on. With 4 children from her previous marriage and a new $2.5 million dollar townhouse in Chicago, she’s got bills to pay.
