Matt Lauer Signs a New Chunky Contract Wtih NBC, Seacrest Take Over Rumors are Squashed.

Ryan Seacrest and Matt Lauer had everyone wondering if Seacrest was actually going to replace Lauer when in fact Seacrest was just announcing that he would be joining the NBC team to host the 2012 Olympics. While Matt joked with Seacrest regarding a take over, he knew in the back of his mind that that was far from the truth.
DETAILS OF MATT’S NEW CONTRACT
Matt’s new salary is almost double his current $17 million. Matt Lauer will be paid a staggering $30 million per year to remain as head anchor for NBC. (The New York Post reports $25 Million)
The new contract also covers Matt’s commute from the Hamptons and he only has to do 4 days per week.

MATT SAYS, NO MORE CURRY!
..and we are not talking about curry chicken my friends. We are talking about Ann Curry. According to TMZ Matt does not want her to be his co-host on the Today show. The rumor is that part of his new contract was the promise of a new co-host. Ann Curry has been in her roll for less than a year, replacing Meredith Vieira.
Steve Capus, NBC’s new Head man in charge, denies that Lauer’s contract contains any such clause.
“I’m the guy who signed the contract, Any suggestion of any provision of co-anchor is categorically untrue.”
What is known for sure is that since Curry’s take over the ratings have been on a steady decline. The Today show used to smash Good morning America by 851,000 viewers, now it’s lead has been trimmed to 552,000 in less then a year. This is a trend that Steve Capus will have to put an end to. Since Lauer is back, changing something to stop the trend would suggest a new co-host is likely.
So with a sigh of release, I can at least say, “Seacrest is OUT!”.

Clay Aiken Calls Rihanna a “Pitch” and Admits to Getting his Face Sucked. [video]
Clay Aiken’s star is also shining again (refer to Jaleel White story) due to reality TV. He is actually doing surprisingly well on The Celebrity Apprentice and as a result of renewed interest in him, he made an appearance on Bravo’s Watch What Happens live.
There is a segment on the show called “Plead the Fifth” and Clay did everything but. He answered every question.
He was asked: “Marry, Screw, or Kill” with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Ryan Seacrest. Don’t forget he is gay. Once you know that, his answer was somewhat predictable, Kill Simon, Marry Randy and Screw Ryan Seacrest.
THE RIHANNA ANSWER
When asked which pop star today wouldn’t make it past the first round of American Idol, he first suggested that there were too many to name. Then he singled out Rihanna saying that she has “pitch problems”. OUCH!
SUCKING FACE?
The last question Andy Cohen went for the plastic surgery rumors. He asked if Clay indeed had work done. To Clay’s merit, he stepped up to the plate and admitted that he had slight facial reconstructive surgery. He said he had the fat sucked out of is chin.

American Idol Kicks Jermaine Jones Off for Outstanding Warrants – Airs the Confrontation with Producers! [video]

Jermaine created this mess himself. By getting caught in is initial lies, he put himself and his entire background into question. After the crazy story yesterday about Jones reporting that his estranged father showed up out of nowhere looking for a payday, when in fact he had dinner with his father 2 nights before, Idol decided to look deeper into Jones’ past.
LOOKEE HERE LOOKEE HERE…
Guess what they found? They found out that Jermaine Jones was charged with 2 crimes in his past.
I know what you are thinking, “The guy is 25 and they must have found something he did 5 or 6 years ago”.
WRONG! He was charged in 2011. Last freakin’ year! Then to put the icing on the Jermaine Jones cake, he has a warrant out for his arrest. One of the crimes involved assault and during both arrests Jermaine Jones provided a fake name to authorities. The producers felt it was just too risky to keep him on the show.
RATINGS BONANZA FOR “IDOL”
With all of this free publicity American Idol decided to confront Jones on camera and played the confrontation during the Wednesday nights broadcast. I’m still seeing if this was truly a ratings boost for the show. They with the drama almost immediately. Ryan Seacrest opens the show first by stating,
“With the cooperation of law enforcement we discovered information that left us with no choice but to eliminate one of our finalists from the competition. When you’re doing a live show, anything can happen.”
Then he says his usual opening statement,
“This is American Idol.”
They don’t real the name of who will be kicked off the show but by now everyone knew. Then halfway through the program, they show the producers, including Nigel Lythgoe confronting Jermaine with the allegations and dismissing him from the show. Jermaine gives his reason for the deceit,
“I just was scared and nervous and didn’t want to get judged and penalized for anything in the past,”
Lythoge then replies regarding Jones’ outstanding warrant,
“We’re not allowed to have anybody that has an outstanding warrant on the program, And you have four.”
That was the end of Jones’ Idol career. BUH-BYE!

Simon Cowell Cleans House!! Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul follow Steven Jones – All 3 Will Not Be Returning for the X-Factor
Wow! Before I could even get the details of Steven Jones exit, Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul were right behind him. WOW!!
Simon Cowell is a beast!! There are reports that Simon wanted to take the show in a different direction, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!
WHOS CONFIRMED AND WHO’S NOT?
Steven Jones exit is confirmed because he tweeted it,
“I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time.”
He is definitely a wrap. I thought he was decent at best – but not good enough to take the show where it needs to go.
Scherzinger’s dismissal was confirmed by a FOX rep. They confirmed that her contract was not renewed. No comments were made by Fox on Paula’s status.
Nigel Lythgoe who is the executive producer of idol tweeted,
“Shocked to see Simon has fired Paula Abdul, Nicole and Steve from the X-Factor.”
That leads credibility to all the rumors.
L.A. Reid is still holding on. There have been no comments about his status one way or the other, but things look good for him.
SIMON THE GREAT
This is what makes Simon great in my opinion. He has the courage to take his own advice, throw caution to the wind and make drastic changes, (even though rumor has it, that Nicole’s exit was her decision, “so she can focus on her music”).
Simon was disappointed with the shows overall performance. Despite solid ratings, he will not be happy until X-Factor is bigger then American Idol. Period. Now with “The voice” being a surprise hit, the bar is set even higher.
Steve Jones, weather he liked it or not was being compared to Ryan Seacrest every night it was on, which was unfair, but so is life. Seacrest has been doing “Idol” since 2002, comparatively Jones looked uncomfortable at best. The show itself was simply overproduced and the judges were more worried about themselves and their careers then the talent. The show was exhausting to watch…..
With Seacrest leaving “Idol” and the show just not being the same, there leaves room for a new champ and Simon Cowell sees the opportunity to claim the throne. He’s not one to let opportunity pass him by. Rumors are flying on who will be the replacement judges, Mariah Carey? Mary J. Blige?
Simon has definitely created buzz again around his show. I might actually make it through a complete season this time around.

Kourtney Kardashian Confirms Pregnancy with Baby Number Two!
…..And the drama just doesn’t stop with this family. Kourt is expecting her second bambino and unfortunately douche-bag Disick is the pops. The rumor has been confirmed by US weekly and now MTV News both which have been proven to be reliable sources in the past.
Kourtney told Us Weekly that she is over two months pregnant already,
“Now, I’m nine weeks along, You’re supposed to wait 12 weeks to tell people, but I feel confident.”
After she told Scott, I’m sure she sent Ryan Seacrest a text message and he did the happy dance right down to the bank. That’s another season of drama to keep us tuned in. Kim will be crushed because she’s still always from having a child of her own, Kris Jenner will have to get over her hate for Scott and Chloe will have to get an IVF.
I’m still blown away by this news because just on Sunday if you watched the premiere “Kourtney & Kim Take New York,”, we learned the Scott wasn’t even hittin that. They slept in separate beds! One of the underlying plots focused on how they were going to get their Mo-Jo back. Apparently they figured it out!
For a long time I wanted Kourtney to drop that two-pump chump because I always thought she deserved and could do better. Now with two kids, I hope they stay together and work it out. I’m all about two parents in the same house.
Love ‘em or hate ‘em, the Kardashian’s bring the drama.

Ryan Seacrest is being Sued by a Cast Member from his New Show, “Shahs of Sunset”.
Shahs of Sunset is a new reality show that Ryan Seacrest is producing. It follows the affluent Persian community.
One of the stars, Kathy Salem, says that she was forced to play the “bad’ girl. Salem says that she was a target as the show decided to film a night out at a club. When Salem decides to make friendly conversation with an engaged man the cast of the show started to go at her, “Bad Girls” style.
The verbal tirade escalated and she was verbally attacked, had drinks poured in her face and someone even tried to rip her top off.
Salem is suing Seacrest, his production company and TV station Bravo, demanding at least $100,000 in damages.
Bravo and head man in charge, Andy Cohen, are excited about the series.
’The series follows a group of young Persian-American friends – and this is a community that exists all over the place, but if you live in LA you know that the Persian-American community is really strong.’
‘It’s really family oriented. It’s really affluent. This is a really cool, fun, funny group of people you brought to us Ryan, and I’m hoping that this is going to be our next big docu-series, and something that we’re going to be doing for a while!’
‘They also spend a lot of money. You know its great because Bravo is always putting a spotlight on different affluent lifestyles. This is a group of people that doesn’t exist on television anywhere, and that is another reason that I’m excited to do the show. Its new, and different.’
I don’t know about you but I’m ready to watch it now! It sounds like it’s going to be hot, high fashion beyatches hating each other.
