Jay-Z and Duracell Team Up for New Ad for the Duracell Powermat. [video]
Usually if Jay-Z or Beyoncé fart loud it’s all over the internet before the smell hits the air. For some reason I hadn’t heard much about this Duracell commercial or Jay’s deal with Duracell. The ad spot is specifically for Duracell’s new Powermat.
Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna’s song “Run this Town” is playing in the background while we follow a day in the life a young New Yorker played by Michael Galante. (Everyone was wondering who that was in the commercial)
TVST => Galante’s nationality is Filipino and Italian and if he gets his ‘ish together he can make a name for himself and a lot of money. He’s got a look that should be capitalized on.
…continuing on…. we are following Galante through his day while watching his I-phone battery stay charged at 100% because he is using the Powermat while everyone else around him is struggling to stay powered up. Galante is at work, at dinner and then hits the club with his power bars on high. Finally at the end of what it appears to be a Friday night, Galante hits the club with friends and puts his Iphone down on the table next to one that looks just like his. When one of the phones rings, he picks it up and it says “B” is calling. He thinks it’s his phone but can’t figure out who “B” is. It turns out, it’s Beyonce. Then you see a hand gesturing for him to hand the phone over.
The hand belongs to Jay Z. Galante had a nice little city flow going until then – Jay-Z’s flow just kills it. He gives Galante a look and then walks off answering the phone.
This is part of Jay-Z’s partnership with Duracell. He is the new spokesperson for the Powermat and an investor in Duracell. During his announcement of the partnership Hov said,
“I believe in the future of wireless energy and I believe that Duracell Powermat is the company to bring on the revolution, I’m partnering with Duracell Powermat because they’re providing the solutions for the future.”
Here is the commercial. Kinda hot for a stodgy old brand like Duracell.
Sylvester Stallone’s Son Found Dead at Age 36, No Foul Play Expected.
Sage Stallone, the son of Sylvester Stallone was only 36 years old. The son of the legendary action hero was found dead and reports say that there was prescription bottles recovered.
=>TVST: That does not mean he overdosed, or committed suicide, it just means that he had a prescription for something. By saying that they were there, it just makes an already interesting story juicier.
Friends of Sage had not heard from him in the last day and began to get concerned. The housekeeper found his body Friday afternoon.
Stallone’s publicist Michelle Bega released a statement on the actors behalf,
“Sylvester Stallone is devastated and grief-stricken over the sudden loss of his son, His compassion and thoughts are with Sage’s mother, Sasha.”
WERE THERE SYMPTOMS OF SUICIDE?
So far there has been none. Sage who acted in movies “Daylight” and “Rocky V” with his father had a bright career and life ahead of him. He was planning on getting married for the first time and had frequent requests to work on films .
Sage’s attorney of the last 15 years, George Braunstein, describes his client as,
“He was a full of life filmmaker with his whole future ahead of him, He was just very up and enthusiastic and positive.
Sage Moonblood Stallone is the older of two sons that Sylvester had with his first wife Sasha Czack.
Sly and Sasha’s other son Seargeeoh is autistic and now 31 years old. The children were born at a time where it was easy to shield Sheargeeoh and Sage from the media coverage that an autistic child would receive today. Stallone took an active role in trying to insure that Sage stood on his own and helped him in dealing with having an autistic brother. In a People magazine interview in 1985 Sly Stallone said in regards to raising Sage,
“Sage needs to learn that he can be bigger and better than I am. I really want to develop single-minded-ness in him. He should never introduce himself saying, ‘My father is…’ I am also trying to help him develop physically with weights and exercise. I want him to be able to handle himself. He will have encounters just because he is Rocky’s kid.”
In regards to having a younger brother with Autism and dealing with it, Sylvester Stallone told his son,

Cory Gunz might be Cory “Bunz” – Rapper Arrested in NY for Carrying a Loaded Gun.
24 year old, up and coming rapper Cory Gunz was arrested on gun possession charges on Saturday in New York. As we do on TVST, when you are arrested we use your government name: Peter Pankey, Jr! (How the #$% does someone go from Peter Pankey Jr, to Cory Gunz??)
I guess that’s because his father is Peter Gunz – or Peter Pankey Sr. SMH.
Most of the story on this comes from Peter Gunz account of what happened as told by MTV, here it is in Peter Gunz’ on words,
“The details are still sketchy, but I can confirm that he was arrested with a firearm yesterday in the Bronx, They caught him around 2 p.m. in the afternoon with a loaded gun in his knapsack.
It was definitely an illegal search.
“I spoke to the arresting officer, and so far, what I’m hearing from him is that they got a phone call at the station saying they should ‘look out,’
According to [the officer], they didn’t know he was Cory Gunz. They just saw a bunch of kids following him around.
“What I will say is that the officer that arrested Cory actually happened to be a cool dude, After arresting Cory, sitting down with him and talking, he felt bad about the situation.”
“At the end of the day, there’s a reason for everything, but at the same time, in New York, it’s mandatory jail time, To go to a precinct and see your son, your junior, in handcuffs, it’s heartbreaking. Anytime you see your child in jail, in the cell, in handcuffs, it’s very hard. He’s walked down some of the same paths that I walked down, but you never want to see your kids go through what you went through.
“This is Cory’s first offense, but sometimes they like to make an example out of rappers and people with any kind of celebrity to them.”
Nick Cannon tweeted
“Great dude, just a little bad luck. @CoryGunz is holding strong and will be out shortly. Family is here if and when anything is needed,”
It wasn’t bad luck, it was being stupid. All the people with you, and you are the one holding the gun….and in a backpack! If something was to happen, you couldn’t pull it out and defend yourself. If you are transporting the gun have someone else do it, if you get caught with it, it should at least be on a holster ready for you to buck somebody.
Why do you have a gun anyway? No only is it illegal no matter how cool your judge is, you WILL be going to jail. What’s even more stupid, is the head of his label Lil Wayne, went to jail for the same reason. Wayne would have gotten 3 years but he took a plea agreement. I’m sure more details will be released, on Monday, but I don’t think I care until I hear the sentencing.
