Mark Wahlberg Teases Us with Little Details About the Upcoming Entourage Movie

After the official news that “Entourage” the Movie is actually a go, MTV’s Josh Horowitz gets Mark Wahlberg on the phone and attempts to squeeze him for more details on the movie.

As we heard over the years, getting a script that everyone believed in has proved to be difficult but it appears that it has finally happened.  Wahlberg says that the script is finally completed and everyone is excited,

….it just took a long time. It took a long time to get it written, get it right, and we got a fantastic script. Warner Bros. is very excited about it. All the guys are excited. Getting everybody in the same place at the same time has been tough as well.

If you, like me are an avid fan of the show, like any good show you always want more when you see the credits. Entourage was worse because the show was only about 22 minutes long.  Wahlberg says it’s always been a movie in his and co-producer Doug Ellin’s minds,

we always felt like it was a movie, but we had to just make these 30-minute episodes. That was one of the one of the frustrating things. It always felt like we left the audience wanting more,

In regards to a time frame for the project, filming is expected to start this spring with an expected release of April /May next year.

Wahlberg also eluded that the script will move away from all the extra female characters that crept into the storyline in the shows final seasons, returning to focus on the boys,

I always just wanted to get back to where it was just about the guys. We had a lot of strong female characters, and I love all those characters, but it really was always about the guys.

But when Josh tries to get more details asking what has happened to the characters in the time since the final episode on September 11, 2011 and now, Wahlberg is professionally elusive,

You know what, I don’t know if I can give anything away. I haven’t really spoken to anybody about that particular thing. I think I can certainly get back to you about that.

Everyone from the original cast of the show has signed on to do the movie and if the success of the big screen version of  “Sex and The City” is any indication a movie could enhance our Entourage experience.  Now we just need HBO to do the same for the Sopranos!!
