Gwyneth Paltrow Defends Her Controversial Comments About Working Mothers In The Most Gwyneth Way Possible

Back in March, Gwyneth Paltrow spoke with E! News and managed to piss off every working mother in the world. She basically said that being a mom in Hollywood is more difficult than being a mom with a typical 9-5 office job.

Well, now the 41-year-old hardworking mother is defending herself on her blog, Goop. She titled the blog post, “End The Mommy Wars.”

“A few weeks ago during an interview, I was asked why I have only worked on one film a year since having children. My answer was this: Film work takes one away from home and requires 12-14 hours a day, making it difficult to be the one to make the kids their lunch, drive them to school, and put them to bed. So I have found it easier on my family life to make a film the exception, and my 9-5 job the rule.”

So far, so good. But this is Gwyneth Paltrow we’re talking about. We know a condescending comment is right around the corner.

“This somehow was taken to mean I had said a 9-5 job is easier, and a lot of heat was thrown my way, especially by other working mothers who somehow used my out-of-context quote as an opportunity to express feelings (perhaps projected) on the subject.”

Ah, there it is! We have Dr. Paltrow in the house. It’s not her comments causing the problems, it’s all those sensitive working moms who are just too stupid to understand them!

Anyway, she ended her long blog post by wishing all single mothers a very happy Happy Mother’s day. Not that they really need a special day of appreciation. We all know they have it easy with their 9-5 jobs, health insurance, car payments, rent, daycare and insane grocery bills.

You single mothers out there just don’t know how difficult it is being a superstar.
