How bad was Slick Rick’s Halftime Performance at the Barclay’s Center? So Bad he was Trending on Twitter!
For two days I kept hearing how bad it was. I heard it from hot 97, I heard it on Facebook, but I kept thinking to myself, even a bad Slick Rick is a good Slick Rick.
I saw a bad Rob Bass last year and he wasn’t that bad. He did “It Takes Two” and “Joy and Pain” and had the whole place rocking. He was high as f*ck, a little off beat but still had the entire place on their feet.
If Rob Bass can do that with his two hits, then Slick Rick the Ruler can do the same…..so I thought.
Fed up with all the smack talk, I decided to hit Youtube and see for myself. Wow.
It was and is that bad. He seems drunk, old and uninterested in being there. It’s more sad then anything.
However, Slick Rick is ours. He belongs to hip hop so we can talk about him and no one else. Just like I can call my sister a bitch but the second someone else does, there is going to be a problem. That’s exactly what happened on Twitter.
Frank Isola the Knicks Beat writer for the NY Times was there in the front row for the performance. He questioned Rick’s place in hip hop on twitter and caught the verbal twitter lashing that comes with ignorant statements these days. Isola posted,
The Nets are claiming that halftime performer Slick Rick is a “Hip Hop legend.” On what planet, exactly?

Isola was not concerned with the tweeters and kept the Slick Rick jabs coming:
At least when the Nets played at the Meadowlands, Joe Piscopo was in on the joke. Slick Rick actually thinks he’s entertaining.

What does one go about becoming a “hip hop legend.” If Slick Rick can do it there is hope for all of us.

I heard that to torture prisoners at Guantanamo, the U.S. State Department played Slick Rick’s Greatest Hits over and over.

To make it up to the 138 Slick Rick fans I’ve offended, I promise to buy his Christmas album tomorrow.

It must be nice to get paid to sit courtside and talk sh*t. Nothing like getting paid to sit in your pj’s and type sh*t.
What you are about to see, is literally the death of Slick Rick as we knew him. I call this clip, “From Slick Rick to Old Richard”
Watch Chris Brown’s 9 Minute Interview, the day after Rihanna confirms They are Not Dating
A day after Rihanna gave her Facebook Live interview, it’s Chris Brown’s turn to weigh in on their status. It appears that they are both on the same page….he also confirms that they are indeed not dating.
During Rihanna’s interview, after revealing that the two are no longer officially an item, she said she likes to keep some things to herself
“When it gets to my music, I’ll give and I’ll give, and I just feel like I need to keep a little bit for me that I get to decide.”
Chris Brown took this opportunity to go on the morning show with Big Boi. In the 9 minute clip, he talks about his relationship with, or non-relationship with Ri-Ri. He also talked about the webisode that he released revealing that he is in love with two women – one of course being ex-girlfriend Karrueche and the other Rihanna.
Big Boi also gets him to reveal other things that I know you care about such as who does he think he looks better then and who he thinks he can dance better than. ….two things I know you are dying to hear the answer to. (No Really – I personally think he’s surprisingly boring).
I now bring you Chris Brown in a video I like to Call: “MEH”
Watch Justin Bieber Fall For Carly Rae Jenson – Singer Falls Downstairs While Performing
First of all, I’m pissed because I have to bring you the clip via Perez Hilton’s crappy pink player. I’m in Heyuan, China and it’s the only video player that I could find with the clip. Youtube, Facebook and twitter

Jada Pinkett Smith Fuels up Divorce Rumors All By Herself On Facebook
Keeping everything in perspective being as famous as she is for as long as she’s been, she’s got to know that you can’t just go on Facebook, with 2.6 million fans and post some cryptic crap without causing some kind of speculation. That’s exactly what she did. In a post on her wall Jada wrote:
I am on a tremendous journey of great change in every area of my life and I see how change can be scary. For instance, how Will and I raise our family is a tremendous change from the norm. It can be scary for some folks but it should never THREATEN how anyone else chooses to raise their own children or how they choose to live their lives. We all have the freedom to CHOOSE to live how we want. The
freedom of choice is the crux of happiness. We are not here to live up to another’s approval. Take responsibility for YOUR life, YOUR values, YOUR beliefs and expect NO ONE to hold that banner for you or to prove it RIGHT.

Brad Pitt’s Brother Stars in Virgin Mobile Ad – But the Ad Sucks!
The first thing that grabs you about this ad, is that Brad Pitt’s brother certainly looks like Brad. At first you aren’t even listening to what he’s saying, you are just thinking,
Damn! He looks like his Brother
Then if you are a guy you are wondering if he was able to nail a ridiculous amount of chicks being Brad’s brother and looking like him……if you are a chick, you are probably wondering if you cut his hair and dressed him up right, would he look exactly like Brad…….Then slowly you start to pay attention to the commercial.
The spot basically takes a glimpse at Brad’s brother Doug as he lives a super regular life. So regular in fact, that he makes my life look almost as good as I tell everyone it is on facebook.
Besides the guy living in a decent house in a decent neighborhood, he’s does a great job at looking just as boring as someone who looks like Brad Pitt could possibly be. The guy does a great job.
BUT THE COMMERCIAL SUCKS!
I say the ad blows because you have no idea why you are watching this ad. What is this guy is selling. There is one point where he is watching and describing his mini-van and you think to yourself,
Aha! Must be a mini-van commercial. Brilliant!
If that was true, it would be brilliant. He’s washing and describing the mini-van, he’s gassing it up….but it’s not a minivan commercial. It’s a Virgin mobile ad.
It’s called “A Fair Go For All”. I had to google it, because the commercial really doesn’t tell me much.
Basically they want the consumer to know that you don’t have to be famous to get Rock Star Deals. The website they want you to visit is: http://fairgobro.com.au/#latest-offers where they show you the ad and some “Celebrity Deals at Celebrity Brother Prices” .
The ad might go viral, but I bet less than .5% of the people who watch it visit the site.
Here you tell me if this ad sucks or not.

Negative Advanced Reviews of The Dark Knight has caused Rotten tomatoes To Suspend user Commentary
This is the first time that the website ever had to do something like this. Apparently Dark Knight fans went a little off the deep end after some early negative reviews were posted regarding the movie. Some of the comments were rude, profane and threatening to the respected critics behind the reviews.
The site’s editor and chief, Matt Atchity says that the comments will probably be back up when the movie releases on Friday. The negative comments came so fast and furious that the staff couldn’t keep up. Atchity explained,
He thinks the site will go to facebook based commenting which will put faces to statements and stop ITGS (Internet Tough Guy Syndrome). The facebook commenting system posts the comments publicly with your face and your wall on facebook. It’s hard to make a threat, say something racist or homophobic when everyone you know will know that you were behind the comments.
Sites similar to Rotten Tomatoes don’t let the commentators comment on reviews before a film opens. This doesn’t seem like an effective solution but it really is. When the film opens you start to get viewers posting negative reviews that have no Agenda and now the critics are not alone in their opinions.
The Dark Knight has received a 84% fresh rating on the site, but some notable critics have been giving it “not so good’ reviews. Chrisy Lemiure from The Associated Press called the movie a “letdown”. But most reviews (Rolling Stone, CinemaBlend) say it’s one of the best Super Hero Movies EVER!
My question to you is, “would one or two bad reviews from notable critics of a movie as epic as The Dark Knight really stop you from seeing it for yourself?” NOT A CHANCE.
